Fair Chase Hunting at Ohinerata
Where is Ohinerata?
We have two locations in the central north Island new Zealand. Our red deer block is in the Taurua region and is approximately 5000 acres of private land, flat to steep country with good red deer numbers and some fallow deer. There is a back country hut that sleeps four with solar lights fire flush toilet and shower/hot water. Access to this is a 20min Quad ride or by 4x4 in the dryer months. We have shooting stands bult in different locations on the property to make the hunting a little more comfortable.
We also have access to 2700 acres of private land 25 minutes from Whanganui with high numbers of fallow deer and some red deer on the property. There is a three bedroom house with all the comforts of home power, shower, toilet, stove, TV, Sleeps six. You can drive to the house. The location can be found on google maps. The terrain has a bit of everything from steeps hills to nice flats. Both blocks are well tracked and are easy to get around. We pride ourselves on free range non fenced in hunting fair chase.
